    Although Kontron offers accessories, the customer must ensure that these products are installed with proper shielding to maintain CE compliance. Kontron does not offer engineering services for designing cabling systems. In addition, Kontron will not retest or recertify systems or components that have been reconfigured by customers.

    AdvancedTCA Carrier boards and CPU Nodes, as well as in MicroTCA-based systems. Kontron’s AM4330 is designed with a Hifn HIPP-II 8155 IPSec encryption controller which performs multi- protocol packet processing for security protocols such as IPSec (ESP and AH), SSL/TLS, L2TP, and PPTP. The Hifn encryption controller is complemented by a PCI-X to PCIexpress bridge and, with a 128MB private memory interface, the AM4330 can handle more than 500,000 IPSec small sessions.

    Board Features Hifn Network Security Processor The Hifn 8155 Network Security Processor is part of the new generation of the Hifn Intelligent Packet Processor (HIPP) architecture. The HIPP II 8155 uses parallel execution units for maximum performance featuring parallel Public-Key (PK) processors with a transparent load-balancing dispatcher and parallel security/compression cores, and a transparent Load Balancer.

    MMC Firmware Upgrade Procedure It is important to use compatible, MMC, FWUM versions. Since all these software and hardware solution are exchanging information, they must be in synch.     The recommended upgrade sequence must be: FWUM, MMC,. FWUM Firmware upgrade is done using IPMIFWU utility. This is a Linux utility developed by Kontron that use the serial port of any computer to exchange with the FirmWare Upgrade Manager (FWUM) in order to upgrade to FWUM or the MMC firmware.

The amber LED indicates that the AMC is in fault. 2.5.2 Out of service (LED1) When this LED is off, it indicates that the board is working properly.
