La ye r
L ayer parameter setting s apply to the selected L ayer
mo de, and affect bo th Scenes. These setting s are
sto red as vo ice data. There are three parameters,
including Pan, Separate, and Uniso n Detune.
For more information about Layer modes, see page 2 2 .
Pa n
The Pan parameter sets the type o f stereo panning , o r
the way the so und mo ves between the left and rig ht
speakers.
Settings:
off:
W hen L ayer mo de is set to SIN G L E (see pag e 2 2 ), Pan
co ntro l do es no t functio n. W hen set to DUAL , DUAL UN ISO N ,
SPL IT o r SPL IT UN ISO N , yo u can chang e the pan width fo r
Scene 1 and Scene 2 using the Separate functio n (see belo w).
a lt (Alterna te):
Causes the so und to alternate between left,
rig ht and center each time a key is played. Use the Separate
functio n to determine pan width.
rnd (Ra ndom ):
Causes the so und to mo ve at rando m. Use
the Separate functio n to determine pan width.
Se p a r a te
The Separate parameter adjusts the amo unt o f
amplitude between left and rig ht o utputs. The result
depends o n Pan type setting (see abo ve).
Settings:
0 (no effect) ~ 3 2
If Pa n setting = " off" :
W hen L ayer mo de (see pag e 2 2 ) is set to SIN G L E, the
panning will have no effect.
W hen L ayer mo de is set to UN ISO N , hig her values create
a wider stereo dimensio n by separating the two to up to
five so unds. (Po ly mo de g enerates two so unds with each
key pressed, and Mo no / L eg ato mo de g enerates five
so unds with each key pressed.)
W hen L ayer mo de is set to DUAL / DUAL UN ISO N , o r
SPL IT/ SPL IT UN ISO N , hig her values create a wider stereo
dimensio n by separating Scene 1 and Scene 2 so unds.
If Pa n setting = " a lt" or " rnd" :
The Separate setting adjusts the Pan separatio n rang e.
Hig her values result in a wider separatio n. W hen the
value is set to maximum setting (" 3 2 " ), then left, center
and rig ht are co mpletely separated.
The Separate function does not apply to the Vari EF Wet signals, so if the Wet
setting is too high, the Separate effect will be weakened.
Uni so n D e t une
W hen UN ISO N mo de is selected (see L ayer mo de,
pag e 2 2 ), multiple so unds are played, with the pitch o f
each so und slig htly detuned. Uniso n Detune adjusts the
detuning o f the VCO 1 pitch in fine increments, letting
yo u create an even thicker UN ISO N so und by
applying hig her setting s, but be careful no t to apply
to o much o r yo u' ll chang e the basic pitch o f the vo ice.
(This functio n o nly wo rks when L ayer mo de is set to
UN ISO N , DUAL UN ISO N o r SPL IT UN ISO N .)
Settings:
1 ~ 3 2
