The CO N TRO L kno bs are assig nable, so yo u can
desig nate a specific parameter to be co ntro lled by each
kno b. Yo u can use the Co ntro l Matrix to desig nate each
kno b parameter fo r each Scene in each vo ice. Plus, yo u
can use the UTIL ITY SETUP menu Co ntro l functio n to
desig nate specific Co ntro l Chang e parameters to be
co ntro lled by each kno b when the [ASSIG N ] switch is
selected, which no t o nly is ro uted to the internal to ne
g enerato r, but is o utput via the MIDI [O UT] terminal, and
therefo re can be used to simultaneo usly co ntro l an external
MIDI device.
W hen yo u turn a kno b to edit a parameter, its parameter
name and value will auto matically appear in the L CD, and
the kno b data g raph will track kno b mo vements
acco rding ly. If yo u simply press a kno b (push-switch)
witho ut turning it, the parameter name and value will
appear in the L CD fo r visual co nfirmatio n, witho ut
chang ing its value.

If the [EDIT RO T ARY] switch is set to po sitio ns 1 - 4 o r
po sitio n 6 , when yo u select a vo ice the [ASSIG N ] switch
will auto matically be selected (the L ED beside it will lig ht),
which means the g ro up o f parameters assig ned to the
kno bs by the UTIL ITY SETUP menu Co ntro l functio n can be
edited o r co ntro lled by turning the CO N TRO L kno bs. T o
access ano ther g ro up o f kno b parameters, simply press a

For more information about the knob parameters, see page 5 4 .
The Knob Da ta Gra ph
During to ne g enerato r o r sequence event parameter editing ,
a ho rizo ntal 1 1 -seg ment " kno b data g raph" appears in the
lo wer area o f the L CD. W hen yo u press a kno b's push-switch
fo r data co nfirmatio n (befo re turning the kno b), the data
g raph pro vides yo u with a visual reference o f the parameter
value in relatio n to the current physical po sitio n o f the kno b.
Current knob position
A flashing seg ment in the data g raph indicates the actual
value o f the parameter, whereas shaded seg ments to the left
o r rig ht o f the flashing seg ment indicate the current physical
po sitio n o f the kno b. As yo u turn the kno b to the left o r rig ht,
the data g raph will mo ve left o r rig ht in acco rdance with the
kno b mo vements.
Coa rse/ Fine Edit
Yo u can edit CO N TRO L kno b parameters in co arse o r fine
increments and decrements, depending o n ho w yo u turn the
kno b. The kno b data g raph will display differently fo r each
metho d.
Simply turning a kno b will increase o r decrease the
parameter value in co arse (larg e) amo unts. In this case, the
flashing indicato r in the kno b data g raph will be canceled.
T urning a kno b while pressing it will increase o r decrease the
parameter value in fine (small) amo unts. In this case, the
flashing indicato r in the kno b data g raph will po sitio n as yo u
turn the kno b, and will remain flashing when yo u release the
kno b.
