DIGITAL MODE OPERATION
■ Low-speed data communication
In addition to the digital voice communication, a low-speed
data communication is available (Refer p. 4 about the trans-
ceiver-PC connection details).
q Set the desired frequency.
wVerify and set repeater call, transmit output power and
other conditions.
e Push [A•
] then [0•
FUNC
then push [Y Y ] or [Z Z ] several times to select the automatic
data transmission setting. (see p. 53)
• "AtX" appears.
• Skip this setting, if you want to transmit manually.
r Push [Y Y ] once to select the data communication speed
setting. (see p. 54)
• "SPd" appears.
• Select suitable data speed for your PC or application.

t Start up the low-speed data communication application.
ySet the application as follows.
• Port
: The same COM port number as trans-
ceiver's
: 4800 bps or 9600 bps (same as step r)
• Baud rate
• Data
: 8 bit
• Parity
: None

• Stop
: 1 bit
• Flow control: Xon/Xoff
uTransceiver automatically transmits or receives the data
while the computer is sending data to transceiver. Or push
and hold [PTT] to transmit, release to receive the data
manually.
• Refer to the instructions of the application that how to send or re-
ceive data.
