Chapter 1. Introduction

The ThinkAgile HX1321, and HX3321 Series servers are 1U rack servers that are fully qualified and that come
with VMware ESXi or AHV hypervisors preinstalled. It is designed to simplify IT operations and management
for customers through predefined server configurations that are optimized around specific types of
workloads, while conforming to best practices and compliance guidelines for Nutanix.
Note: A Nutanix cluster requires a minimum of three or more servers. The best practice is to use servers of
the same machine type and configuration to provide a balanced and high-performance solution.
In addition, the server is designed to utilize the Lenovo system management tools to create a unified
hardware management solution for Nutanix deployments:
• Lenovo XClarity Administrator, which provides firmware compliance functionality to ensure that the
ThinkAgile HX1321, and HX3321 Series servers are running the appropriate level of firmware for Lenovo
XClarity Controller, UEFI, and PCIe devices.
• Lenovo XClarity Integrator, which eases the integration into Nutanix Prism.
The ThinkAgile HX1321, and HX3321 Series hardware is based on the ThinkSystem SR630 rack server.
ThinkAgile HX1321
The ThinkAgile HX1321 Certified Node is engineered for light to medium workloads (business applications
and VDI) and optimized for remote office and branch office (ROBO) environments.
ThinkAgile HX3321
The ThinkAgile HX3321 Certified Node is engineered for compute-heavy workloads environments.
