CPU and Heatsink Installation

Pin 1 Notch
IMPORTANT
1. Once the CPU is installed you must handle the board carefully and hold it on the
heatsink side.
2.
The CPU Power cable must be installed on connector J22.
If not installed, the board will not start. This 4 wires cable comes from P4 ready power
supply or from the Backplane.

Raise the Socket Actuation Lever up to 90º.
Locate the Pin 1 Notch.

Locate the Pin 1 Notch on the CPU.
Install the CPU onto Socket (match the pin 1 of CPU
with Pin 1 of Socket.
Lower the Socket Actuation Lever.
Remove the protective cover under the heatsink.
Install the CPU Heatsink onto the CPU and clip it to
the retention module.
Activate simultaneously the clips levers in order to
secure the heat sink.
Caution : You must apply pressure equally on both
side of the heatsink when you fasten the side
brackets.
Connect the CPU Fan cable to the CPU fan
connector (J21) located near the Memory Sockets.
