TROUBLESHOOTING

604-606 Control - Error Codes
Problem
Err 1 is displayed.
Program settings have been corrupted.
Err 3 is displayed.
Control does not detect the camshaft position and is
returning to the service position.
Camshaft is not turning during Err 3 display.
Camshaft is turning more than five minutes to find Home
position:
System
Problem
Salt tank overflow.
Flowing or dripping water at drain or salt line
after recharge.
Hard water leakage after recharge.
Control will not draw salt.
Control will not recharge automatically.
Control recharges at wrong time of day.
Intermittent salt draw.
No conditioned water after recharge.
Backwashes or purges at excessively low or
high rate.
Runs out of conditioned water between
recharges.
Flow indicator on control does not display
service flow.

Possible Cause
Possible Cause
Loose salt line connection.
Drain line restricted with debris.
Debris is preventing #3 or #4 valve disc from
closing.
Worn #3 or #4 valve disc.
Improper recharge.
Leaking of external bypass valve.
O-Ring around riser pipe damaged.
Restricted drain line.
Injector plugged.
Debris is preventing valve discs from closing.
AC adapter or motor not connected.
Defective motor.
Meter clogged with debris.
Time of Day set incorrectly.
Low water pressure.
No salt in salt tank.
Injector plugged.
No drain line flow control.
Restricted drain line.
Control improperly programmed.
Bypass valve in bypass position.
Meter cable dislodged from valve.
Meter clogged with debris.
Solution
Press any key. If Err 1 does not clear, replace control.
Wait until the control returns to the service position.
Check that motor is connected. Verify that the motor wire
harness is connected to motor and controller module. Verify
that optical sensor is connected and in place. Verify that
motor gear has engaged the camshaft.
If everything is connected, replace components in this order:
1. Motor Assembly, Optical Sensor
2. Control
Verify that optical sensor is in place and connected to wire.
Inspect for debris in the camshaft slots.
If motor continues to rotate indefinitely, replace the following
components in this order:
1. Motor Assembly, Optical Sensor
2. Control
Ensure all salt line connections are tight.
Clean drain control.
Remove debris.
Replace valve discs.
Repeat recharge after making certain correct
salt dosage was set.
Replace bypass valve.
Replace O-ring.
Remove restriction.
Clean injector and screen.
Remove foreign matter from valve discs.
Connect power.
Replace motor.
Remove and clean meter.
Set the correct Time of Day.
Maintain a minimum of 20 psi
(1.3 bar) feed.
Add salt to salt tank.
Clean injector and screen.
Install drain line flow control.
Remove restriction.
Verify salt dosage.
Remove bypass valve from bypass.
Fully insert meter cable into valve.
Remove and clean meter.
