The entire system will require between 50 and 60 gallons of oil.
Caution! It is not recommended to mix different brands and/or grades of oil in the hydraulic tank.
If the suction line has been replaced, fill the line until oil reaches the pump (see Pump Cavitation

on page 152).
Reinstall the filler cap and fully open the ball valve.

Caution! Failure to open the ball valve may seriously damage the pump and the hydraulic system.
Start the engine.

Inspecting Hydraulic Cylinders

Danger!
Always lock out and tag out the vehicle when inspecting or performing maintenance on
the vehicle (see Locking out and Taging Out the Vehicle on page 10) .
You must inspect hydraulic cylinders at least once a month.
When you do so:
Make sure that the ball valve on the suction line is completely open before starting the engine.

Warning!
Failure to open the ball valve may damage the hydraulic system.
Make sure that connections between all hoses and pipes are tight, and that no oil is leaking.

Leaking or otherwise faulty cylinders must be repaired or replaced immediately.
Make sure that all cylinder caps are firmly set and that there are no leaks.
3.
Using a straight edge, make sure that cylinder rods are straight.
4.
Lubricate and inspect all cylinder mounting points (pins, retaining bolts, etc.).
