Model and country dependent:
The particle filter has become clogged with soot.
Adapt your driving style so that the filter cleans itself automatically.
e Vehicles with manual transmission: Switch on throttle-blipping function.

Vehicles with PDK: Switch on PDK SPORT mode.

e Switch off cruise control.
e Select selection mode D or, on vehicles with manual transmission, only shift up to the
next gear when the upshift indicator requests you to do so.
e Alternate between accelerating to the maximum permissible speed (preferably
overland) and decelerating again; taking your foot completely off the accelerator pedal.
e Always observe the relevant speed limit.
e Repeat the procedure until the message disappears.
