Driving off with Launch Control
Launch Control is used to achieve maximum acceler-
ation from a standstill.
Information
Optimum functionality is only guaranteed when the
road is dry and the tires are at operating temperature.
Loss of Control over the
WARNING
Vehicle or Endangering
other Road Users
In some situations (poor road conditions, driver
inattention, etc.) control over the vehicle may be lost
or other road users may be endangered as a result.
e Launch Control should preferably be used on race
tracks.
e Only use Launch Control on public roads if the
road and traffic conditions permit.
e Do not endanger other road users when using
Launch Control.
Information
Stresses on components increase significantly when
driving off at maximum acceleration compared to
normal driving off.
Vehicles with manual transmission
b Engine at operating temperature.
b Traction Control (TC) switched on.
b Vehicle on an even surface.
b Electric parking brake not engaged.
1. Fully depress the clutch pedal and hold.
2. Engage 1st gear.
3. Quickly depress the accelerator pedal fully and
hold it down.
The engine speed levels off at around 5,000 rpm.
4. Engage the clutch quickly.
Vehicles with PDK
b Engine at operating temperature.
b Traction Control (TC) switched on.
1. Press the brake with your left foot.
2. Quickly depress accelerator pedal fully and hold
it down.
The engine speed levels off at around 6,500 rpm.
A message indicating that LAUNCH CONTROL is
active appears on the multifunction display.
3. Release the brake quickly.
