5.2.5 Setting up WEP security

The AirStation Pro WEP (Wireless Encryption Privacy) security feature prevents
external decryption of wireless packets; the packets are encoded prior to
communication. A Wired LAN must be used to configure the WEP function.
Note: Once you have set a WEP code, you cannot communicate with Macintosh
To configure the WEP function follow these steps:
1 Open the Basic Settings screen. For instructions on how to do this, see

3 Enter a password in the Encryption Code (WEP) field.
4 Re-enter the password in the Confirm Encryption Code field.
5 Click Set.

ASCII enables you to enter a 5-digit password alphanumerically (both text and
numbers are accepted).
HEX enables you to enter a 10-digit password.
A page is displayed, confirming your settings are complete.
Close the Web browser.
Manager, you will be prompted to enter the encryption code. If you do not
enter an encryption code, you will not be able to communicate with the
AirStation Pro.
