Contour Insert Cushion
ENGLISH
WARNING!
Physipro recommends that a clinician such as a doctor or therapist experienced in seating and
positioning be consulted to determine if a Contour Insert Cushion is appropriate.
Installing a cushion on a wheelchair may affect the center of gravity of the wheelchair and may
cause the wheelchair to tip backwards, potentially resulting in injury. Always assess for the
potential need for antitippers or amputee axle adapter brackets to be added to the wheelchair
to help increase stability.
You should regularly check for skin redness especially around bony prominences. If your skin
develops redness, discontinue the use of the cushion immediately and see your doctor or
therapist. The Contour Insert Cushion is used to help reduce pressure. However, no cushion can
completely eliminate sitting pressure or prevent pressure sores.
Do not place any obstructions between the user and the cushion because it will reduce
product effectiveness. This item meets the requirements of California 116 & 117, NFPA 701, CE
marking and NF EN1021-1, EN1021-2 norms.

Installation

Stick the rear part of the cushion (look for indications on the cover) in the back of the seat. If
there is an abductor stop on the cushion, make sure the external rotator is positioned towards
the front.

Usage precautions

The cushion must be installed on a clean and flat surface of good quality. During the
installation, check the dimensional compatibility between the cushion and the seat and adjust
the height of the armrests. It is preferable to wear clothes made of cotton, that are not tight
and, if possible, without seams on the resting zones. Do not insert any towel, folded bed sheets
or any other surface between the user and the cushion. It is recommended to consult your
therapist in the month following the installation of this cushion to make sure it is efficient.
The Contour Insert Cushion must be used with the cushion cover facing up. If the cover is not
used correctly it may reduce or eliminate the cushion's benefits.
Life Span
The estimated life span of the Contour Insert Cushion is three (3) years.
Storage
Physipro's cushions must be stored preferably on a flat surface, out of direct sunlight and in a
dry area.
