    DESCRIPTION The Valdis is a soft sling backrest designed to offer optimal comfort and support by encompassing the curvature of the occupant’s back. Capable of adapting to diverse spinal morphologies, the Valdis is particularly recommended for people with hyperkyphosis. The cushioned back of the Valdis is cut with precision to provide a deeper immersion.

    • Before use, it is important to verify the quality and condition of the backrest components, please refer to the Maintenance checklist, page 15.  Physipro Inc. backrests are reserved exclusively for use on mobility aids (manual or power wheelchairs).  Always install backrest with the provided mounting hardware.

    WARNINGS Consult a healthcare professional: Physipro Inc. recommends that a health care professional such as a doctor or therapist, experienced in seating and positioning, be consulted to determine, and install the required seating system and make any necessary adjustments. Center of gravity: Installing a backrest on a wheelchair may affect the center of gravity of the wheelchair and may cause the wheelchair to tip backwards, possibly resulting in injury.

    INSTALLATION Installing the Valdis backrest Please read all the following instructions before beginning installation. The steps required to properly install the Valdis backrest must be followed in the order that they are listed. Required tool: Square screwdriver #2 (North America) or " Phillips" screwdriver (Europe) 1.
  • Page 11 Installing the lateral supports (option) The lateral supports offered with the Valdis backrest can be installed on ¾ to 1 back post. The use of universal " " mounting clamps on all the lateral supports offered, ensure height positioning precision and easy installation.

    MAINTENANCE Regular cleaning eliminates the accumulation of dirt and grime and helps extend the life of your backrest. It is recommended to visually inspect the components of the backrest during the cleaning process. Cleaning the backrest and lateral support covers 1.

    Parts and components that are replaced or repaired under one of these warranties will remain subject to the warranty for the remainder of the warranty period.
