Limitations on use

WARNING
!
Beards and sideburns in the sealing area of the full face mask
will cause leakages! Therefore the full face mask should not
be used by anyone with facial hair of this sort. Earpieces in
the sealing area also cause leakages. Use special mask
spectacles.
When used with respiratory filters, the full face masks may only be
used for post-fire care or decontamination. The exhalation valve has
been designed for use with an overpressure self-contained breathing
apparatuses or overpressure airline equipment. Due to this, the
exhalation resistance is greater than with normal masks.
Normal-pressure SCBAs or normal-pressure airline equipment must
not be connected to this thread.
2.5
Approvals
The full face masks are approved according to:
EN 136:1998 Cl. 3+
(EU) 2016/425
Declaration of conformity: see www.draeger.com/product-certificates
In addition, the full face masks comply with the requirements for flame
engulfment in EN 137:2006.
The full face masks may only be used with approved overpressure
self-contained breathing apparatuses, overpressure airline equipment
and certain respiratory filters.
The mask/helmet combination complies with DIN 58610:2014.
The following mask-helmet combinations are approved:

Preconditions for use

The mask/helmet combination needs to be carefully adapted to the
equipment wearer (adjustment of the adapter slot and internal
helmet components) due to the rigid structure.
3.2
Preconditions for use with respiratory filters
Together with a respiratory filter, the full face mask forms a filtering
device. Observe the following preconditions if the full face mask is
used as a filtering device:
The ambient conditions (particularly the types and concentrations
of contaminants) must be known. Use corresponding respiratory
filters. In cases where the contaminant is unknown, only use a self-
contained open-circuit breathing apparatus or an air line breathing
apparatus.
Only use filtering devices if the air does not directly endanger the
health or life of the user.
