11. Make sure that the axis of rotation of the mask/helmet adapter (2)
is below the visor frame divide.
12. Screw the mask/helmet adapters and the visor frame together
using the screws and the hexagon nuts as well as three plastic
washers each and tighten until the distance (x) between the
clamping cams is 3 to 0.5 mm.
4.4.2 Replacing the connector
1. Pull the inner mask out of the groove of the threaded ring.
2. Force open the clamping ring with a screwdriver.
3. Remove the clamping ring and slip ring and the support plate.
4. Pull the connector out of the mask body.
5. Fit the new connector with a speech diaphragm as well as in- and
exhalation valves and insert the connector so that the markings on
the centres of the connector and the mask body are aligned.
6. Fit the slip ring and new clamping ring.
7. Attach the hook to ensure the tightest possible fit of the clamping
ring.
8. Push the support plate between the clamping ring and the slip ring;
fit it into the lower visor frame and align it.
9. Compress the nose of the clamping ring with pliers until the
equipment connector is securely located in the mask body.
10. Attach the inner mask. Make sure that the edge lies in the groove
all around. The centre markings on the connector and on the inner
mask must coincide.
4.4.3 Replacing the valve discs for the control valves
1. Pull out the old valve discs towards the inside.
2. Insert the studs of the new valve discs into the hole from inside and
pull them towards the visor until the undercut of the stud is visible.
The valve discs should lie evenly against the inside surface.

4.4.4 Replacing the speech diaphragm or O-ring
1. Pull the inner mask out of the groove of
the threaded ring.
2. Unscrew the threaded ring with the pin
wrench.
3. Turn the pin wrench and carefully insert
it in the holes of the protective grille. Do
not damage the foil on the diaphragm.
4. Turn the speech diaphragm to remove
it.
5. Remove the O-ring from the connector using the sealing ring lifter.
6. Check the speech diaphragm and O-ring, and replace if
necessary.
7. Attach the inner mask. Make sure that the edge lies in the groove
all around. The centre markings on the connector and on the inner
mask must coincide.
4.4.5 Replacing the exhalation valve disc
1. Visually inspect the exhalation valve disc (see Chapter 4.3.3 on
Page 17).
2. Fit the exhalation valve cover. Ensure that it locks into place.
4.4.6 Replacing the inhalation valve seat or disc
1. Lift and pull out the inhalation valve seat using a sealing ring lifter
on the round thread seal.
2. Remove the old valve disc and fit the new disc.
3. Press the inhalation valve seat with the valve disc into the
circumference in a V-shape and allow it to snap into the connector
so that it rests on all sides. The valve disc must not be wedged.
The disc must face inwards, the supports must point outwards.
