kept clear to ensure a tight fit of the full face mask.
3. Don the protective headgear, leave the chin strap open.

5. Take hold of both mask/helmet adapters, then slide the upper edge
of the full face mask against your forehead under the protective
headgear.

tighten and clip them into the adapter slots in the protective
headgear.

otherwise adjust the hairnet in the
protective headgear.
9. Seal the connector and inhale until a negative pressure is
generated. Hold your breath for a moment.
The negative pressure should be retained. No air may enter the full
face mask from the outside. Repeat the leak test twice.
10. Check the exhalation valve: Seal the connector and exhale
vigorously.
The exhaled air must be able to escape without obstruction
through the exhalation valve. If not, replace the exhalation valve.
11. Grease the seal of the ESA plug-in connector with silicone grease
(e.g. Molykote 111), if necessary. The lung demand valve is then
easy to connect.
12. Connect the self-contained breathing apparatus, airline equipment
or respiratory filter.
13. Check the proper fit by turning and pulling the lung demand valve
vigorously.
Have a second person check the tightness and correct connection.
