The duration of a “trickle charge” is continuous as long as the WPR-48 is not fully charged. The WPR-DS also functions as an interface to a PC via the RS-232 port, for uploading of new firmware and configuring the WPR-48.
Specifications for the WPR-DS Physical Description The WPR-DS, shown below and on the next page, is constructed of blue high- impact -plastic with labeling on the front and rear surfaces. Three LEDs on the front panel indicate the unit’s status. The cavity accommodates the WPR-48 wireless handheld remote.

Docking Station for WPR-48 Indicators Illuminates green when 12 VDC power is provided to the WPR-DS via the external power pack. CHG (Charge) Illuminates (red) when a WPR-48 is inserted in the WPR-DS cavity and their contacts meet. The LED remains ON while the rechargeable battery is charging.
Use an RS-232 cable (RJ-11 – DB-9, such as the Crestron STCP-502 (not supplied) to connect the WPR-DS to the serial port of the PC. This connection can also be made with a modular RJ-11 cable and a DB9F to RJ-11 adapter. (Refer to the following illustration.)
