UniVox® CLS-1 USER GUIDE
Compact and powerful induction loop amplifier for use with TV/DVD/music/microphone
E-mail: neil@HearingLossHelp.com
The UniVox CLS-1 is a compact, yet powerful, loop amplifier for wireless listening through
your hearing aid. Connect your TV, DVD, stereo, MP3, microphone or any other sound
source that you want to hear clearly to any (or all) of the three inputs.
The CLS-1 box contains the loop amplifier, power adapter (transformer) and connector
cord (and a Loop Pad or wire if ordered). You can buy accessories making it possible to
use it in even more ways. For example you can connect the CLS-1 to the cigarette lighter
in your car with a 12V adapter. You can use the CLS-1 to hear on the phone with a phone
adapter. Loop wire will cover approximately 600 square feet.
Connect the chosen loop:
Place the loop amplifier in a suitable place near the TV/DVD/Cable Box. Avoid the amplifier
coming in contact with delicate materials as it is possible for it to become heated.
Loop pad: Put the loop pad under the chair where you want to sit. Plug the loop pad cord
into the special jack on the rear panel.
Wire loop: The loop wire can, for example, be attached on the floor trim along the walls of
the room. It can also be placed under the carpet or in the ceiling. The loop should not be
positioned at mid-height (3-4 ft. above the floor) as this will give very poor performance.
Connect both ends of the wire to the spring clips on the rear panel. Don't worry that this
looks like a dead short. This is the way current amplifiers work.
