CYCLING WITH POWER ASSISTANCE

1.
Start and accelerate smoothly and slowly.
2.
Reduce the load on the battery and hub motor by pedalling on uphill slopes.
3.
Maintain the most uniform speed possible – avoid braking and accelerations until you can do
it safety in relation to road safety.
4.
Slow down before braking, to save battery power and go easy on the motor and its bracket.
5.
The power disconnects automatically on overloading and can be switched on again when the
load is normal again.
After cycling
• Switch off the power when not riding the bike to reduce the risk of accidents and personal injury.
• Switch off the power, lock the battery box, and take out the key when parking the bike.

MAINTENANCE OF BATTERY AND CHARGER

• If the battery is not going to be used for some time it should be kept charged to about 50%
(takes about 2–3 hours of charging for a fully discharged battery) and stored in a dry and well
ventilated place. Charge the battery for 2–3 hours every other month for maintenance.
• The battery and charger should be stored in a clean, dry and well ventilated place, protected
from corrosive substances, excessive heat and naked flames.
• Storage conditions for battery: temperature –20 to +35°C, relative humidity 5 to 65%.
• Do not immerse the battery in water. When transported the battery should be packed in its
original packaging and protected from knocks and blows, vibration and direct sunlight.
• Disconnect the charger from the battery for storage.
• Storage conditions for charger: temperature –20 to +55°C, relative humidity 5 to 65%.

MAINTAINING THE CHAIN

Lubricating the chain
The chain should be lubricated regularly; use a suitable chain oil. Check that the chain does not knock
when cycling, or is damaged. Always keep the chain oiled.
1.
Lubricate the chain.
2.
Pedal a few turns so that the oil comes in the links.
3.
Wipe the chain with a cloth or sponge.
