FIBER CHARACTERIZATION SCRIPT
IL/ORL REFERENCING PROCEDURE
The following procedure describes how to perform an Insertion Loss (IL) and Optical
Return Loss (ORL) referencing with the use of an MTAU and a FiberComplete
module into a T-BERD/MTS 8000 V2. This measurement is done to ensure that the
IL and ORL of the fi ber jumpers are taken into account for an accurate qualifi cation of
the fi ber to test.
Please read the entire procedure BEFORE starting.
