Upgrades to Meridian 1 option 81

This chapter describes these upgrades to the Meridian 1 option 81:
— Option 61C Core Module upgrade to option 81, page 12-5

If you are upgrading to an option 81 from an option 61, use the XT system
Core module and Network module upgrade procedures on page 12-163.
Do not begin a system upgrade unless you are thoroughly familiar with
the process for performing the upgrade. Read through the procedure
you will use before you begin the upgrade.
Before beginning an upgrade, read the important information on the next few
pages pertaining to connection of a system monitor or modem, and backplane
connections. Then perform a thorough audit of the system you are upgrading:
— Verify the suitability of the upgrade package you are considering.
— Resolve any existing operational problems, error messages, or other
problems.
— Check for minimum vintage requirements on all circuit cards that will
remain in the system.
— Verify that all equipment needed for the upgrade has been identified.
