1. Carefully unpack the printer, feeder, conveyor and accessories.
Save the packing materials.
2. Choose a suitable location for the printer. Not in direct sunlight.
3. With the help of another person; lift the printer, using the "recessed carrying
handles", and place the printer onto a sturdy table that can safely support the weight
of the printer.

Position the optional feeder stand and feeder (FDR12, FDRSS) at the entrance end
of the printer.
NOTE: The User Manual (Operators' Guide) describes the use of the FD-13/15
Feeder. This feeder is not offered in the USA.
5. Position the optional conveyor/stacker/dryer at the exit end of the base.
6. Verify the proper connections as outlined below.

Feeder Interface

Strapping Plugs (dummy plugs) must fill all open positions, in the Emergency Stop
connection area, on the printer.
Be sure to use the proper strapping plug, as shown above.
Strapping Plug OUT (has red marker) must be connected to the OUT (RENA
o
OUT) connection (has red circle) on the printer.
Strapping Plug IN must be connected to the IN (RENA IN) connection on the
o
printer.

Attach the appropriate "Feeder Interface Cable" between the Printer and the Feeder.
If you are using the FDR12 or FDRSS feeder models; use cable part # 9200661 to attach
the "Relay 2" connection on the Controller and the Feeder.
7. Check to be sure that the red Emergency Stop Button is released (reset).
8. Connect AC power to the printer; using the supplied power cord.
9. Power the printer ON. Set power switch to 1.
10. After a number of seconds the controller will display: EMERGENCY BUTTON
SHOULD BE RELEASED!.
