Connect to a relay

Wire gauge less than 18 AWG is not recommended.

Electrocution hazard. Always remove power to the instrument before making electrical
connections.
Fire hazard. Do not daisy-chain the common relay connections or jumper wire from the
mains power connection inside the instrument.
Electrocution hazard. In order to maintain the NEMA/IP environmental ratings of the
enclosure, use only conduit fittings and cable glands rated for at least NEMA 4X/IP66 to
route cables in to the instrument.
Connect equipment in accordance with national, state and local electrical codes.
Items to collect:
•
18–12 AWG wire (as determined by the load application)
•
Cable strain relief fitting (cable gland)
1. Remove power to the sc controller.
2. Connect the solenoid valves to an sc controller relay (Relay A, B, C or D). Refer to
Figure
2. Refer to the sc controller documentation for wiring instructions.
3. Connect Terminal 1 in each solenoid valve to the neutral line of a 115/230 VAC
power source. Refer to
4. Connect the power line of the 115/230 VAC power source to the COM (common)
terminal of the sc controller relay.
5. Assemble the sc controller enclosure. Refer to the sc controller documentation.
6. Supply power to the sc controller.
