the non-slip pad.

Transmittance Compartment

The transmittance compartment located in the middle of the sensor is used for measuring the
transmitted color of transparent solids or liquids. The transmission compartment door should be

closed while standardizing and taking measurements

Specular Included/Excluded Port

The UltraScan VIS sphere contains a specular exclusion port door which is closed during specular
included and transmittance measurements and opened during specular excluded measurements. The
position of the door is controlled through EasyMatch QC. See the ULTRASCAN VIS STANDARDIZATION
section for more information on the various measurement modes.

Closing the transmittance compartment door while making both reflectance and transmittance measurements is the best
practice for this instrument. For more information, see the note in the UltraScan VIS Standardization section.
