Center Channel Loudspeaker
The VR-MC is a new high performance center channel
speaker from Boston Acoustics that sonically and cos-
metically compliments our highly acclaimed VR-M moni-
tors. Its accurate, wide-range response delivers clear dia-
log and dynamic on-screen sound effects with
unmatched clarity and articulation.
The VR-MC is designed and manufactured at our
Peabody, Massachusetts facility using state-of-the-art,
design software and is built on our own proprietary pro-
duction lines. Like all Boston speakers, it is built to exact-
ing standards, widely respected as among the industry's
tightest tolerances.
The VR-MC combines an active 5
and a 5 " (133mm) passive radiator to deliver low fre-

quency extension to 65Hz. Both active and passive driv-
ers are built with cast aluminum baskets. The woofers are
coupled with a black anodized 1" (25mm) aluminum
dome VR tweeter. This remarkable driver produces an
extremely smooth, flat response well beyond the audible
range. A die-cast aluminum heatsink attached to the
tweeter's backplate dissipates heat quickly and efficient-
ly, assuring cool, trouble-free operation even at very high
power levels. The combination makes for a perfect sonic
match for the VR-M monitors. The drivers are positioned
very close to each other for smooth, uniform radiation in

both the horizontal and vertical planes for maximum cov-
erage of the listening area.
Cosmetically, the VR-MC maintains the unique appear-
ance of the VR-M monitors. The cabinet features a solid
wood top in either cherry or black ash, and real wood
veneer sides. The result is a luxurious piece of furniture
for the top of your TV that is gracefully tapered to expose
only a thin strip of wood above the baffle when viewed
directly from the front. The cabinet is as functional as it is
beautiful, featuring heavy internal bracing for strength and
rigidity, eliminating unwanted resonance.
