Notes Introduction Thank you for purchasing a Guardian Fall Protection Alligator Guardrail System. This manual must be read and understood in its entirety, and used as part of an employee training program as required by OSHA or any applicable state agency.

Applicable standards and regulations depend on the type of work being done, and also might include state-specific regulations.

Equipment that fails inspection in any way must immediately be removed from use, or repaired by an entity approved by the manufacturer. No on-site repair of equipment unless explicitly permitted by Guardian Fall Protection. Equipment subjected to forces of fall arrest must immediately be removed from use.
Maintenance, Cleaning, and Storage Repairs to Alligator Guardrail Systems can only be made by a Guardian Fall Protection representative or an entity authorized by Guardian. Contact Guardian for all maintenance and repair needs at: 1-800-466-6385. If Alligator Guardrail System fails inspection in any way, immediately remove it from service, and contact Guardian to inquire about its return or repair.
Product Specific Applications Use of equipment in unintended applications may result in serious WARNING injury or death. NEVER make any connections to guardrail systems. Alligator Guardrail Systems may be used in Fall Prevention applications ONLY. Fall Prevention Systems are placed around the leading edges of any and all fall hazards to prevent a worker from going over an edge, and may be used in substitute of Fall Protection or safety netting systems.
2. NEVER install on unstable or structurally compromised surfaces, such as debris, rot, and rust. 3. Alligator Guardrail System must be installed a MINIMUM 10’ from all electrical hazards. 4. Take extreme care during installation. Guardian Fall Protection recommends using a back-up fall protection system until Alligator Guardrail System is completely installed.

Parapet Wall Application: Compatible parapet thickness range is 2” to 16”. MINIMUM parapet height: 7”. 1) Assemble the mount, guardrail post receiver, and guardrail post as shown. 2) Place assembly completed in step 1 on the inside of parapet wall. Optional Gusset Attachment Application 1) Install guardrail post receiver on selected parapet wall with (2) 2½” long, 14-10 screws. Ensure guardrail post receiver is set at a 90º angle, and top of post receiver is even with top of parapet wall. 2) Fit gusset to top of guardrail post receiver.
