Replacing the Metal Halide Lamp

Although the average life of the metal halide lamp is approx. 4000 hours,
it varies slightly depending on how it is used.
The lamp must be replaced when sufficient light volume cannot be gained
even if the LIGHT control is set to MAX.
Replacement of the lamp must be performed according to the procedure
given below.
WARNING
When replacing lamp, do not touch immediately after turning off
power. Hot surface may cause heat injury. After power is turned off, wait at
least 40 minutes to change lamp.

Turn the Leica DVM5000 upside down.
• Position a cushion appropriately
before placing the Leica DVM5000 upside down.

Details
After the power is turned ON, make sure that the fan inside the Leica DVM5000 is rotating.
If it is not rotating, the Leica DVM5000 may be faulty. In this case, contact your Leica Microsystems representative.
Check for collection of foreign matter on the camera and lens. If foreign matter has collected on the camera or lens,
remove it using a cotton swap or blower. Do not remove it with metal tools such as tweezers. Using them may result
in scratches.
• Recommended replacement lamp is 10 450 473
(from Leica Microsystems).
• When you need to purchase a metal halide lamp, please contact
Leica Microsystems sales staff.
• Before replacing the metal halide lamp, make sure that the
power to the product is turned OFF and cables are removed.
