    The Summit SB-1150 Bariatric Wheelchair Scale is a fully electronic, low profile floor scale that measures 36 in x 36 in (.91 m x .91 m), and has a capacity up to 1000 lb (500 kg). The SB-1150 uses four corner-mounted, alloy steel shear beam load cells, with the cells recessed into the frame channels for protection.

    10-ft length of load cell cable. The Summit SB-1150 has one threaded hole located in the center of the deck to allow for the installation of an eyebolt. An eyebolt hook and chains can then be used to lift the scale. It is recommended to use a 1/2 in-20NF eyebolt for lifting the scale.

    7. The cable must be routed to the indicator in a manner that will protect the cable from damage. The method of cable protection in non-washdown applications is shown in Figure 2-3 on page 5.     Batteries must be removed from the unit prior to long periods of disuse or long term storage. Optional Power Connections Rice Lake Weighing Systems offers optional AC adapters to use when power is available. USB power can also be used.

    Operation This section describes the indicator, functionality of each button and basic scale operations. Figure 3-1. Indicator Front Panel Item Function Access the BMI (Body Mass Index) function.     Communication The indicator comes with an RS-232 port which enables weight data to be transmitted to other equipment, such as a computer or printer. The RS-232 cable with DB-9 connector (PN 100719) is available from Rice Lake Weighing Systems. Figure 5-3 on page 20 shows where the RS-232 connection is located on the indicator.

    Maintenance and Troubleshooting Maintenance The following section provides instructions for maintaining and cleaning the Rice Lake line of scales. Do not immerse the scale in cleaning or other liquid solutions. Important Do not use Isopropyl alcohol or other solutions to clean the indicator display surface.

    Load Cell Replacement Replacement load cells can be ordered from Rice Lake Weighing Systems. To replace a load cell, lift the scale with a chain and remove the foot and then remove the defective load cell. Disconnect the load cell cable from the junction box and cut the cable ties.

    Ensure the threaded holes for the load cell screws are free of debris. Use compressed air to blow out the holes, if necessary. Position the load cells with alignment arrows pointed up toward the deck and loosely install the provided hex head cap screws as shown in Figure 6-1 on page 24.
