First time set up and installation
How do I install my GoGear micro jukebox micro audio jukebox?
IMPORTANT: Before doing the installation, please make sure that your PC is running on one
of the following operating systems
Windows 98SE
Windows 2000 - SP3 (or above)
Windows XP (home or Professional) SP1 (or above)
For users with Windows 2000 SP1 or SP2, please upgrade your system to SP3 (or above)
from http://www.support.microsoft.com.
For users with Windows XP Professional – you also need to upgrade to SP1 (or above) from
the Microsoft support site. For all legal licensees, upgrades of Windows of SP are free.
Also to avoid possible conflict between applications, you are recommended to close all other
windows applications and deactivate the firewall (if any) before performing the installation of
Digital Media Manager (DMM)
For WindowsME 2000/XP users
/
1.
Always install the software first. Do this by inserting the installation CD into the CD ROM drive.
2.
From the installer menu, select your preferred language, click OK to read the welcome message and
then click OK to advance to the next page and click Install to start the installation of the Philips
DMM software.
3.
Follow the instructions on-screen to complete the installation.
4.
Once the Philips DMM software is installed, hook up your hdd to your computer via the supplied
USB cable. Make sure you connect your GoGear micro jukebox to the main power supply.
5.
An application will launch and the unit will be recognized as a USB Mass Storage device. It is
automatically listed as REMOVABLE DISK in Windows Explorer. You may now launch DMM.
6.
Complete the DMM registration for the GoGear micro jukebox device.
7.
Click Next and then New to specify where your MP3 and / or WMA files are located in the Media
Folder selection screen.
8.
Click OK to scan the selected folder on your PC for media files and add them to your PC Library.
9.
You may now use DMM to transfer your favorite music and enjoy them on your GoGear micro
jukebox.
For Windows98 users
1.
Please do NOT attempt to connect your GoGear micro jukebox to the computer before the
installation of the necessary drivers. (If you connect the GoGear micro jukebox prior to
installing the driver and encounter problems, please refer to the steps on how to resolve
the problem in the troubleshooting section below.)
2.
Always install the software first. Do this by inserting the GoGear micro jukebox installation CD into
the CD ROM drive.
3.
From the installer menu, select your preferred language, click OK to read the welcome message and
then click OK again to advance to the next page and click Install to start the installation of the
Philips DMM software.
4.
An application will run automatically to check whether a driver has been previously installed on your
PC, if not then the driver installation will start automatically.
5.
After the driver has been copied to the computer, the installation of Digital Media Manager
(DMM) software will launch.
6.
Follow the instructions on-screen to complete the installation.
7.
Hook up your GoGear micro jukebox to your computer via the supplied USB cable. Make sure you
connect your GoGear micro jukebox to the main power supply.
8.
Another application will launch with the connection of new hardware detected and complete the
installation of the driver automatically.
9.
Restart your computer and launch DMM. Make sure you connect your hdd via the supplied
USB cable.
10. Complete the DMM registration for the GoGear micro jukebox device.
11. Click Next and then New to specify where your MP3 and / or WMA files are located in the Media
Folder selection screen.
12. Click OK to scan the selected folder on your PC for media files and add them to your PC Library.
You may now use DMM to transfer your favorite music and enjoy them on your GoGear micro jukebox.
