To resample music files means to change the bit rate (file quality) of the tracks while downloading
to a portable device. Reducing the file quality saves memory, allowing you to add more music to a
device. Resampling will not alter the music file saved to your PC, but will only change the file
transferred to your portable player.

How many songs will my player hold?
There are several questions to ask when figuring out how much a player will hold: (1) How much
memory is in the player? The more memory, the more music it will hold. (2) How large are the
files being transferred? Larger, higher-quality files take up memory faster than smaller, lower bit
rate files. (3) What file format are your songs? A standard MP3 files at 128kbps ('CD quality') will
use about 1MB of memory for every minute of music. However mp3PRO and WMA will use about
half of that. A lower quality file such as 64kbps will allow you to fit much more music on your
player, and if using smaller 'sport' headphones, will still sound very good.

How long does it take to transfer files to my player?
There are a few factors that determine the speed in which files transfer to your player: (1) How
large are the files. The larger the file, the longer it will take to transfer. (2) How fast is the
connection between the player and your computer? Some players use a slower parallel port
connection, while others use a fast USB 2 or FireWire connection. (3) Is my computer working on
other things while files are being transferred? The less activity on your computer during a
transfer, the faster it will work.

How to create MP3 files from music CDs
You can create an extensive digital music collection (MP3, mp3PRO, WAV (and WMA as an
optional plug-in) from your retail music CDs using Musicmatch® Jukebox. (The first time you
record, the program will go through a quick initialization process. This should take less than a
minute and is a one-time process).
a) Place an audio CD in your CD-ROM drive, close the drive, and then click Rip From CD in
the Music Center.
(If you're online, CD Lookup, a free service, will now look for track tags. Tags are the
artist name, track name, and track number associated with your music. An Internet
connection is required for this feature. If you're not connected to the Internet but have
Musicmatch Jukebox Plus, 'Deferred CD Lookup' will add Tag information the next time
you're on the Internet and Musicmatch is started)
