Step 3 Run the upgrade command to upgrade the ONT. Refer to the following command:
HG861>upgrade ftp 192.168.100.100 HG861V100R001C00-all.bin.
Do not power off the ONT during the upgrade; otherwise, the upgrade fails, and the ONT cannot
restart.

3.4.3 Upgrading the ONT (from the OLT Side)

This topic describes how to remotely upgrade the ONT through the CLI from the OLT side.

Procedure
Step 1 In the diagnosis mode, run the load ont command to load the upgrade file to the OLT board.
Step 2 During the loading process, you can run the display progress load command to view the
progress.
Step 3 After the system prompts that the loading is successful, run the ont software-update command
to upgrade the ONT.
Step 4 After the upgrade, the system prompts you to reset the ONT. Run the ont reset command in the
GPON interface configuration mode to reset the ONT.
This upgrade mode is applicable to only the OLTs of the V800R005 and V800R006C02 versions in the
distributed mode at the CO end.

3.4.4 Collecting the Fault Information (from the OLT Side)

Context
When the GPON service is faulty, you need to collect the fault information through the CLI, as
described in
Issue 01 (2009-07-30)
For details on configuring the ONT through the OLT, see the Configuration Guide and
Command Reference delivered along with the OLT. The operations described in this
document are for your reference only.
After entering the command, you need to specify parameters. For details on the parameters,
enter ? to obtain the help information.
