Step 3 Connect the other end of the AC power cable with the power sourcing equipment in
equipment room.
Do not touch or change the power before disconnecting power cable. There is line
voltage inside the product even if the power switch (if installed) is off or the fuse is
burnt out.

5.3 Connecting Ethernet cables

Ethernet cable is used to connect the ISCOM6820-GP device with other devices, providing 10
Mbit/s, 100 Mbit/s, or 1000 Mbit/s transmission rate. According to the wiring corresponding
to the two ends of the RJ45 connector, the network cable can be divided into straight-through
cable and cross-over cable:
Connect the Ethernet cable according to the following steps:
Step 1 Select a proper cable according to the cable routing and make an Ethernet cable.
Step 2 Connect one end of the RJ45 connector of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the local
device, as shown in Figure 5-4.
Straight-through cable: the wiring of twisted pair on both ends of RJ45 connectors
complies with EIA/TIA 568 B standard. Straight-through cables are used for connecting
devices with routers or PCs.
Crossover cable: one end of RJ45 connectors is EIA/TIA 568 A standard wiring, the
other end is EIA/TIA 568 B standard wiring. Cross-over cable is mainly used for directly
connecting devices with switches or hubs.
