Board-Level Functions
MPC8309KIT PCI interface is configured to work in master mode. Options are provided for two external
slaves; one can be 3.3 V standard PCI card and other a miniPCI card, as shown
MPC8309KIT PCI interface works on 33-MHz speed; for a 66-MHz operation, the system input clock
needs to be changed to 66 MHz.
MPC8309KIT PCI interface is tested using Intel PRO1000MT Gigabit card
and TLINK PCI WLAN (Ralink RT2561S chipset) card. While testing with
Intel card, Link issue is observed for multiple executions of link up/down.
This seems to be the driver issue specific to Intel PCI card. This issue is not
observed with another card.
MiniPCI interface is tested with SX-10WG WLAN card (Atheros AR5005G).

COP/JTAG Port
The common on-chip processor (COP) is part of the MPC8309 JTAG module and is implemented as a set of
additional instructions and logic. This port can connect to a Freescale JTAG emulator for extensive system
debugging.
The following figure shows the setup of USB port JTAG emulator.
