Return to contents Setting the brine valve The standard salt dosage for the SuperSoft is 0.3 kg salt. The brine valve is prepared in the factory to take account of this. However, it is possible that the float may have moved during shipping and it is advisable to check the setting on each unit prior to installation.

Water your garden, shrubs and outside plants from an outside hard water tap or put your SuperSoft into by-pass before watering. See the “By-Pass” section on page 13 for instructions on how to do this. Many house plants can be watered with soft water although some can be very sensitive to the elevated level of sodium ions in soft water.
Adding salt: The SuperSoft is designed to accommodate two 4kg blocks of salt in the front compartment although a good quality tablet salt can be used if desired. The water level will normally sit around 5cm above the salt grid and in contact with the salt.

IMPORTANT: Never turn the actuator anti-clockwise. Cold weather protection: If your SuperSoft is installed outside or in an area that is not heated, you may want to take precautionary measures to prevent damage to your unit from freezing.
