1 - Shift Cover with Handle
❑ Do not remove the han‐
dle unnecessarily. Only
the cover must be un‐
clipped for the emergen‐
cy release. Refer to
⇒ "2.7 Selector Lever,
Emergency Release",
page 96 .
❑ Pull the button past its
pressure point before
removing the handle.
Secure the button with a
cable tie or some suita‐
ble wire. This can pre‐
vent the button from be‐
ing accidentally pushed
back into the handle.

bracket.
– Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission. Refer to

– If necessary, disconnect or remove sections of the exhaust system. Refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 26 ; Exhaust
System or ⇒ Rep. Gr. 26 ; Exhaust Pipes/Mufflers .
– Remove the heat shield under the selector mechanism.
– Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to
⇒ "2.6 Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting", page 94
