1 - Shift Cover with Handle
❑ Do not remove the han‐
dle unnecessarily. Only
the cover must be un‐
clipped for the emergen‐
cy release. Refer to

❑ Pull the button past its
pressure point before
removing the handle.
Secure the button with a
cable tie or some suita‐
ble wire. This can pre‐
vent the button from be‐
ing accidentally pushed
back into the handle.

Remove the center
bracket.
Remove the selector lever cable from the transmission. Refer to

If necessary, disconnect or remove sections of the exhaust system. Refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 26 ; Exhaust
System or ⇒ Rep. Gr. 26 ; Exhaust Pipes/Mufflers .
Remove the heat shield under the selector mechanism.
Adjust the selector lever cable after installing. Refer to
⇒ "2.6 Selector Lever Cable, Adjusting", page 94
