SELF - MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
BATTERY
Electrolyte level and the condition of battery must
be inspected periodically to avoid failure of battery.
Battery is located below the seat, at front end and
enclosed by the utility box.
To access and inspect the battery, utility box must be
removed in the following manner.
1. Open the seat by unlocking the seat lock (refer
page No. 16).
2. Remove the mounting bolts of utility box using
suitable spanner.

3. Take out the utility box along with the seat while
carefully disconnecting the wiring socket of utility
box lamp and diagnostic coupler (please note that
the seat comes along with utility box since it is
mounted on the utility box).
Now, inspect the electrolyte level of the battery. The
electrolyte must be between maximum and minimum
level. If the electrolyte level is below minimum level,
add only distilled water upto the maximum level by
removing the filler caps.
Reinstall the filler caps and clean the battery
throughly, apply petroleum jelly to the terminals of
battery to protect it from corrosion.
