5. TROUBLESHOOTING

SYMPTOM
1. Poor flush or poor rim

POSSIBLE CAUSE
A. Low tank water level.
B. Undersize supply.
C. Supply stop not fully open.
D. Low bowl water level.
E. Volume control not properly adjusted
F. Clogged trapway or rim holes.
G. Clogged soil pipe or vents.
A. Plunger needs lubrication.
B. Plunger needs replacing.
A. Defective plunger.
B. Water level too high in tank.
C. Leaky float ball.
D. Leaky float valve seat.
A. Seal screw needs adjusting.
B. Clogged soil pipe or vents.
A. Line pressure surges activate float
valve.
B. High water pressure.
A. Toilet is clogged.

CORRECTIVE ACTION
A. Adjust tank water level screw.
B. Install 1/2" supply.
C. Fully open supply stop.
D. Adjust bowl water level.
E. Increase flow by turning upward.
F. Unclog trapway or clean rim
holes.
G. Unclog soil pipe or vent pipe.
A. Lubricate plunger with silicone
lubricant
B. Replace plunger.
A. Replace plunger.
B. Lower water level to below
rimfeed hose.
C. Replace float ball.
D. Replace seat washer.
A. Adjust seal screw.
B. Unclog soil pipe or vent pipe.
A. Install pressure surge suppressor.
B. Install pressure regulator.
A. Use plunger to unclog toilet.
