2-2-2. IF-978 Board
Removal
1. Remove the upper chassis. (Refer to Section 2-1-1.)
2. Remove the DEC-158 board.
(Refer to steps 2 to 5 in Section 2-2-1.)
3. Remove the HDD unit.
(Refer to steps 2 to 4 in Section 2-1-3.)
4. Remove the connector bracket, and remove the
flexible card board from the connector CN1602 on the
MPU-137 board.
5. Remove the four screws.
6. Remove the IF-978 board using a flat blade screwdriv-
er as shown in the figure.

Be careful not to damage the IF-978 board.

Installation
7. Reinstall the IF-978 board in the reverse order of steps
4 to 6.

Make sure to connect the connector CN101 on the IF-
978 board to the connector CN1601 on the MPU-137

board.

8. Reassemble the unit in the reverse order of steps 1 to
3.
