1-6. Circuit Protection Parts (Fuse)

The following boards of the unit are equipped with circuit
protection parts such as fuse.
The fuse melts when overcurrent flows or the unit over-
heats due to a problem of the unit.
When replacing the fuse, be sure to use the following
designated parts.
Correct the cause resulting in the melting of these parts
before replacement.

Use Designated Parts
The fuse is an important part for ensuring safety.
Replacement with parts other than those designated will
result in fire hazards and electric hazards. Therefore be
sure to use only the designated parts.

1-7. Backup Battery

The lithium battery on the MPU-137 board is used to back
up the date/time data and starting operation data of the
unit.
The operating life of this lithium battery (without passing
current) is three years, but differs depending on the
environment and condition of how it is used.
Perform the following procedures for replacement.

. After replacing the lithium battery, reset the date/time
data referring to the Operating Instructions of the unit.
. If the unit still does not operate normally (the Sony logo
stays displayed on the monitor connected to the ANA-
LOG RGB OUT connector) after replacing the lithium
battery, connect the PS/2 keyboard to the keyboard
connector, and press the [F1] key.

The lithium battery is a critical part to safe operation.
Replace the component with Sony part whose part number
is listed below published by Sony.
If the component is replaced by any part other than the
specified ones, this may cause a fire or electric shock.

When replacing the lithium battery, make sure that the
battery is installed with + and _ poles connected to the
correct terminals.
An incorrect connection may cause an explosion or
leakage of fluid. As a result, physical damage in the
surrounding materials may be caused.
