The process benchmarks the performance levels tailored for each site and generates necessary documentation for the effective management and maintenance of the system.

A PC/Laptop with Xtralis VSC software and Serial lead (9-pin null modem cable) to configure and commission the system. Note: Where the PC/Laptop does not have a serial port, an RS232 to USB converter is required.
  • Page 12 Change the settings to suit site requirements: Normalizing the air flow - Normalize the air flow using Xtralis VSC or the display panel (if applicable) Create smoke at the farthest sampling hole from the Detector to confirm that the detector registers the presence of smoke within the time anticipated by ASPIRE but also within the maximum time according to local codes and standards.

    Access Code Entry may be aborted by pressing the MENU button. All of the following settings can be entered using the Xtralis VSC configuration software and a PC. This can reduce the time taken to enter certain values and parameters.

Setting Time and Date Minimum Access Code Required: Level 1 The time and date settings can be configured through the TIME DATE menu option.     ICAM by Xtralis ICAM Commissioning Guide System Integrity Test ICAM systems can be tested in a number of different ways. Most sites will require different types of testing for different customer environments. Before conducting smoke tests you must check to see if the local codes and standards specify which type of smoke test is to be performed.
  • Page 20 ICAM Commissioning Guide ICAM by Xtralis 5.1.2 Pipe Integrity Smoke Testing This test should be used to test pipe integrity in any typical customer site. This method is suitable for the testing of standard sensitivity fire detection systems. You will need a smoke source, a stopwatch, and a fire extinguisher.

    Ensure that the ICAM commissioning forms are complete and all relevant sections have been filled in If you have used Xtralis VSC select the Device or Address then select File | Print to print out a copy of configuration details and include a copy with the hand over documents.
