2.2 Manual Configuration of the Polycom SoundPoint IP 300 using
a DHCP Server
(For testing purposes or for the user who purchased the phone from a third party).
1. By factory default DHCP is enabled. It is necessary to have a DHCP server available that will
provide the IP address for the phone.
2. Connect the phone to the network and power it on (for making a factory reset of the phone it is
necessary to press simultaneously "4","6","8","*" and hold that until the phone requires the
admin password, which is by default "456", enter the password and press "Enter").
3. The phone will get an IP address assigned and the user needs to know that address. Usually,
during start-up the phone displays its IP address for a short time. The IP address can also be
seen by pressing "Menu", then select "System Status", press "Select", "General" "Select" and the
current IP address of the phone will be displayed.
4. Use a HTTP web browser, connect to the "Polycom" IP address (Note here that a HTTP server
boots slowly, so it is necessary to wait about 1 minute).
5. Select the "SIP Conf." Link, and the phone will ask you to enter the user name and password. By
default the user name is "Polycom" and the password is "456".
6. Go to the "Server 1" section and set the LAN IP address of the Quadro board (SIP Proxy). This
should be set to "172.30.0.1" by default. Set the 5060 for "port" and change the expiration time
to 60 seconds.
7. Go to the "Local Settings" section of the same page and set "Digitmap" for example as
"xx.T#|*[0-6]|*[7-9]x". Set "Digit impossible map" to "1" (an exact digit map for this phone will
be provided later).
8. Press the "Submit" button in the same section. The phone will perform the configuration update.
Then it is necessary to reboot the phone. Press and hold the "-" "+" "Do Not Disturb" and "Hold"
buttons simultaneously for rebooting.

2.3 Configuration by the End User

The next step for the end user is to configure the SIP registration settings. That can be done by:
1. Go to the Polycom IP phone embedded web server and select the "Registration" link and then
the "Registration 1" page.
2. The user needs to set the "Address" (this is the SIP user name), "Auth Password" (the password
is the same as he/she configured on the Quadro board) and also the optional display name.
3. The user also can set here the address of the SIP proxy, but by default the proxy set in the "SIP
Conf" link will be selected (pre-configured to 172.30.0.1).
4. The user can change the SIP registration expire time, by default the expire time is set to 60
seconds on the "SIP Conf" page.
5. But if the LAN IP address of Quadro is changed, the user has to change the default SIP proxy
address, which is in the "Server 1" section on the "SIP Conf" page (see "Manual configuration of
Polycom SoundPoint IP300 using DHCP server" section of this document).
