1 Quadro Board Configuration

The user has to manually attach the extension to the SIP line and enter the SIP user name of the phone
and the password.

2 SIP Phone Configuration.

As it is not desirable to provide distributors/users with 2 separate dial-plans (for standard
mode and for routing mode), we will restrict IP lines to routing mode only.
Epygi or the other company (wholesaler, retailer) has to set up the configuration place and enter the
default values into the phone. The Polycom SoundPoint IP300 phone can be configured completely
manually or in an automated way (over TFTP).
First the automated configuration for distributors and then complete manual way of configuration will be
described. Note here that we will provide the easiest way - from the user's perspective - of configuring
the phone.

2.1 Automatic Configuration of the Polycom SoundPoint IP 300

Automatic (for distributors) configuration of the Polycom SoundPoint IP300 using DHCP and FTP servers
1.
By factory default DHCP is enabled. It is necessary to have a DHCP server available that will
provide the IP address for the phone.
2.
It is also necessary to have a TFTP server available and to place the configuration files that have
been provided by Epygi there in the root path of that server.
3.
Connect the phone to the network and power it on (for making a factory reset of the phone it is
necessary to press simultaneously "4","6","8","*" and hold that until the phone requires the
admin password, which is by default "456"; enter the password and press "Enter").
4.
After booting you need to change phone Server Type from FTP to TFTP. Click the "MENU" button,
select "SETTINGS", select "NETWORK CONFIG...", enter the admin password ("456" by default),
select "Server Menu...", find "Server Type", push the "Edit" button and select the "Change"
button until the server type becomes "Trial FTP", then press "OK" and exit the menu.
5.
The phone will boot and get its IP address and the IP address of the TFTP server via the "option"
66 of the DHCP server (option 66 is "TFTP server name"). It is desirable to have the DHCP
server, phone and TFTP server in the same subnet (it is not sure whether it will work with the
TFTP server in a different subnet).
6.
Then the phone will automatically download the configuration provided by Epygi from the TFTP
server.
7.
The configuration provided by Epygi will contain changes in the dial plan and the default SIP
proxy address is set to 172.30.0.1.
8.
After booting, change the DHCP settings so that the configuration will not be updated the next
time. This step can be omitted, but then during the start-up every time the phone will try to
reach its configuration TFTP server, and will fail to do so. As a result the stored configuration will
stay active. It is preferable to turn off that feature on the phone itself. To do so, the following
should be performed on the phone keypad:
9.
Click the "MENU" button, select "SETTINGS", select "NETWORK CONFIG...", enter the admin
password ("456" by default), select "DHCP Menu...", find "Boot Server", push the "Edit" button
and select the "Change" button until the server type becomes "Static", then press "OK" and exit
the menu.
These were the steps required for the distributors.
