The IP Encoder has two physical recessed buttons on the front panel, a Reset button and a
Restore button. Refer to Figure 5-2 for the location of the buttons.
Resetting the IP Encoder
The Reset button, when pressed, will restart the IP Encoder.
Note
Performing a reset will not change any saved configuration settings.
Restoring factory defaults on the IP Encoder
The Restore button will restore the IP Encoder to the factory defaults.

Loss of configuration
Restoring the factory default will result in all saved configuration settings being removed and
the IP Encoder will be restored with the factory settings.
1 Ensure that power is being applied to the IP Encoder, this can be from either a power supply or
an ethernet cable using PoE.
2 Press and hold the Restore button.
3 Press and release the Reset button.
4 Once the power LED starts flashing rapidly release the Restore button.
5 Complete Procedure 3-22 to restore the configuration settings from the last backup
configuration file.
