6. PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

Separate collection. This product must not be disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you fi nd one day that your Avdel® product needs replacement, or if it is of no further use to
you, do not dispose of it with household waste. Make this product available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and packaging allows materials to be recycled and used again.
Re-use of recycled materials helps prevent environmental pollution and reduces the demand for raw
materials.
Local regulations may provide for separate collection of electrical products from the household, at
municipal waste sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.
You can check the location of your nearest authorised repair agent by contacting your local Avdel®
offi ce at the address indicated in this manual. Alternatively, a list of authorised Avdel® repair agents
and full details of our after-sales service and contacts are available on the Internet at:

6.1 THE RBRC® SEAL
The RBRC® (Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation) Seal on the nickel cadmium, nickel
metal hydride or lithium-ion batteries (or battery packs) indicates that the costs to recycle these
batteries (or battery packs) at the end of their useful life have already been paid by D
some areas, it is illegal to place spent nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion
batteries in the trash or municipal solid waste stream and the Call 2 Recycle® program provides
an environmentally conscious alternative.
Call 2 Recycle, Inc., in cooperation with D
United States and Canada to facilitate the collection of spent nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride or lithium-
ion batteries. Help protect our environment and conserve natural resources by returning the spent nickel
cadmium, nickel metal hydride or lithium-ion batteries to an authorized D
retailer for recycling. You may also contact your local recycling center for information on where to drop off the
