Outline PB2500 Smart is a Battery Power Rivet Tool which has a light weight with Rivet assessment function and Counter function. It enables to set some values from the touch screen easily. Additionally, 500,000 setting data can be stored in a memory in the tool and they can be extracted through USB connection to in your PC.

Tool use and Set up 1. Power ON Pull trigger and release. Power On and shows ”Stanley Engineered Fastening” logo on the screen. After showing logo for a few seconds, the screen is switched to Counter window automatically. *Power OFF for 3 minutes automatically after trigger was pulled or the screen was touched last.

Switch the kind of counters with Up-Down icons. Only the counters with “ON” in Counter ON/OFF menu are displayed. Daily, Monthly and Total cannot be turned off. (Refer to 3. ON/OFF counters next page.) In case all counters are ON, ・Poka-Yoke ・Service1 ・Service2...
3. ON/OFF counters Touch ”Settings” icon to move to the setting menu. Touch “2. Counter”. If the screen does not show “2. Counter”, switch the menu by touching Up-Down icons. Turn ON or OFF the counters you need or not while switching the page by touching Up- Down icons.
4. Setting counter values Choose a counter which you want to change the value and Touch “Key” icon. (Example : Poka-Yoke) The windows switches to Password checking window. Touch the figure you want to change and Change the numbers with Touching the Up- Down icons.
5. ON/OFF Smart function Smart function means Assessment functions and collecting process curve, ON/OFF accordingly. Using only counter function is possible. Note; If the smart function is turned ON, Rivets / Charge decreases, and the rivet setting speed slows compared with it is turned OFF. The cycle time might also slow because it takes time to save the process data.
6. Setting assessment criteria (Average Mode) *In case of Smart function ON Open “1. Smart Function” menu from the setting menu Touch “Assessment”. Turn ON Average mode and Touch “Average mode” (Blue : ON、Black : OFF) Set 5 rivets you use to collect the riveting data.

17. OK/NOK assessment and Counter operation • In case of Poka-Yoke, Service1, Service2, Service3 After rivet setting, if the result is within OK range, “OK” character is shown in blue and count up the counter with one-time beep. Operator can continue to work for next riveting.
• In case of MANDREL, JAW, OVERHAUL It counts up the counter despite the assessment result is OK or NOK. If the counter value reaches a setting value, the following alarm messages are shown in the screen. Use these alarms as a guide to know the timing of maintenance etc. Touch the screen somewhere to clear the alarm and do maintenance work accordingly.

The window switches to “Clear data conformation” window. If “Yes” character string is touched, the deleting process starts, and it takes 1 to 2 minutes. Wait until completing the deleting. *Do not turn off the power of the tool during this time, because it has a potential to break the file and data.
21. Battery level and Alarm Battery level can be seen in the screen. Battery level Refer to the pictures below for the rough standard of the battery level. If the battery level reaches lowest level, a message “Charge Battery” is shown in the screen.
