5.2.1 TOOL EXTERIOR
Keep the brushless motor Exhaust Vent (F) openings (Fig 1a) free from dust and dirt. If necessary, use a soft
cloth to remove dust and dirt from the exhaust vents (Fig 1a).
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust out of all air vents with clean, dry air at least once a week. To minimize
the risk of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved eye protection when performing this.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool.
These chemicals may weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth dampened only
with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool
into a liquid.
5.2.2 CLEANING THE NOSE EQUIPMENT (FIG. 2)
Loosen the Nose Housing Nut (D) and remove the Nose Housing (C).
Press the Front Clutch (Q) and loosen the Collet (A). Release the Front Clutch (Q).
If necessary , remove Collet Stop (Z) and inspect for damage and replace.
NOTE: Collet Stop (Z) is attached with Loctite® 243.
Clean and inspect the Collet (A) for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the Collet (A).
Remove the Anvil (B) from the Nose Housing (C).
Clean the inside of the Anvil (B) using a soft cloth and a degreaser.
Inspect the Anvil (B) for wear or damage. If necessary, replace the Anvil (B).
Apply light coat of PTFE spray to inside of Anvil (B) and outside of Collet (A).
Clean the inside of the Nose Housing (C) using a dry cloth.
Clean Pulling Head Adapter (P) and Front Clutch area using a dry cloth.
Inspect for damage then apply light coat of PTFE spray to area.
If necessary, apply Loctite® 243 to Collet Stop threads and install Collet Stop Pin (Z) into Collet (A) until
fully seated.
Press Front Clutch (Q) and tighten the Collet (A). Release Front Clutch (Q).
Mount the Anvil (B) on the Nose Housing (C) using two 24 mm spanners.
Mount the Nose Housing (C). Tighten the Nose Housing Nut (D).
5.2.3 CLEANING/SERVICING THE PULLING HEAD ASSEMBLY (REFER TO FIGS. 2D & 2E)
With the Nose Housing (C) and Collet (A) removed (Ref. Section 5.2.2), using a 21mm wrench, remove Mast
Housing (R)
NOTE: LEFT-HAND THREAD
Remove Puling Head/Ball Screw assembly from tool (P, S). Clean and inspect Ball Screw assembly for wear
or damage.
Remove Spindle Clutch (W), Spindle Clutch Spring (X), Washer (Y), Spindle (JJ), Parallel Key (KK), Thrust
Needle Bearing (HH), Thrust Needle Race (GG) and Wave Washer (FF) from tool. Clean and inspect each
component for wear or damage. If necessary, replace component(s).
Apply light layer of grease (Mobil SCH100 or equivalent) to the following Ball Screw assembly and
bearings components as indicated below: Thrust Needle bearing, Radial Needle bearing, and Ball Screw.
Install Wave Spring washer (FF), and Thrust Race (GG) into gear case.
Apply grease to Thrust Bearing (HH) and place on top of thrust race in Gear Housing Assembly (E).
Apply grease to bearing surface of Spindle (JJ)
