Using the HP 51645A Inkjet Cartridge for Infinity

Although the Infinity 85 is designed to operate with the Long-
Life Ink Supply System, the plotter can also be operated with
two HP 51645A, 42ml inkjet cartridges if your bulk system
has run out of ink and you do not have an immediate
replacement. Use the following procedure to make this
conversion.
1. Turn the plotter on and make sure it is Offline . For
Infinity 85, Access Pens must be pushed before
removing the bulk ink cartridge. Failure to comply could
result in the discharge of ink from the pressurized bulk
ink cartridge.
2. If the head is positioned over the parking station, push
Access Pens.
3. Remove the bulk ink cartridge from the plotter by pushing
on the end of the cartridge until it releases.
4. Disconnect the print head cartridge delivery tube from
each print head cartridge (2 places).
5. Remove the print head cartridges (2 places).
6. Install two HP 51645A cartridges using the procedure
page 32, Installing Inkjet Cartridge – Infinity 45.
7. Open the Infinity User Interface and navigate to the
Parameter Control Screen.
8. Select the Cartridge tab. Select Bulk Cartridge System
Enable parameter and disable this parameter. This
section includes tables for general errors and error codes
that can occur. An error handling flow diagram is
included.
