INSTRUCTION MANUAL

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

The following basic safety precautions apply when
using electrical appliances:
Read all instructions.
Before use check that the voltage of wall outlet
correspond to the one shown on the rating plate.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged
cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions,
or is dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return appliance to the nearest authorized
service facility for examination, repair or electrical
or mechanical adjustment.
If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced
by the manufacturer or a authorized service
agent or a qualified technician in order to avoid a
hazard.
To protect against risk of electrical shock do not
put in water or other liquid.
Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
Unplug from outlet not in use, before putting on
or taking off parts, and before cleaning.
Avoid contacting moving parts.
The use of attachments, including canning jars,
not recommended by the manufacturer may
cause a risk of injury to persons.
Do not use outdoors
Do not let cord hang over edge of a table or
counter.
Do not let cord contact hot surface, including the
stove.
Keep hands and utensils out of container while
blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to
persons or damage to the blender. A scraper may
be used but must be used only when the blender
is not running.
Unplug the appliance immediately after use.
Never let the appliance run unattended.
Always operate blender with cover in place.
Blades are sharp. Handle carefully.
This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
Appliances shall be potential injury from misuse.
The blender is not to be operated with an empty
blending unit (i.e. without solid or liquid foodstuff).
Do not operate the appliance in dry motion.
Do not use for other purpose, it may have injury
from misuse.
To prevent the motor from over heating, ensure
that the extraction vents at the base of the model
aren't covered.
The maximum frozen drink capacity in the jug is
2000ml (8 ½ cups), whilst the maximum hot drink
capacity is 1000ml (4 ¼ cups), never exceed this
limit as it will over load the motor.

motor from overheating, The 'Motor Indicator' light
will illuminate in red during a cool down period, to
protect the motor from overheating.

GETTING STARTED.

Congratulations on your purchase of the First Austria
1500W Interactive Smart Blender, the most dynamic
and powerful food processor, that allows total control
on any task through high velocity blending.
1. When plugged in all of the icons on the touch
interactive control panel will illuminate for one
second, then revert back to off leaving only the
'Power' icon (
) illuminated and intermittently
flashing. The Smart Blender is now in standby
mode and is almost ready for use. Standby mode
will change to Sleep mode after 5 minutes.
2. If the jug isn't placed on to the holster, the word
'CUP' will flash intermittently until it has been
returned. The jug's handle has been specially
designed to be ambidextrous, meaning it can be
used by a left handed or right handed person.

3. Selecting one of the above functions will choose
a specific pre-programmed blend or cook
operation. Due to the power of the motor, soup
can be cooked* and ice cream can be frozen
within the jug†. Press play (
) to start blending.
Blending times - Smoothie - 30 sec, Ice Cream -
45 sec, Vegetables - 50 sec, Soup - 300 sec
Pulse (
), however, works differently and when
pressed and held it will blend for a maximum of 300
seconds, or until released.
* When using the Smart Blender's pre programmed
soup setting, the friction from the blades heats
the soup while chopping the ingredients. The
soup becomes piping hot and ready to be served.
† Ice Cream relies on using frozen fruit or ice.
During blending if you'd like to add time onto
the operation, select the 'Add Time' icon (
) to
increase blending by 10 second increments, up
to a maximum of 300 seconds.
If you'd like to adjust the speed of the motor,
whilst in operation, the blue 'Power Slider'
(
) can be adjusted using the 'Plus' (+)
and 'Minus' (-) icons.
5. To pause the Smart Blender at any point select
the 'Pause' icon (II), then to resume blender
select the 'Pause' icon again.

6. Pour your finished food into your glass, jug or
bowl, then serve.
7. The Smart Blender has a self cleaning function,
simply fill the jug to the maximum measurement
line with hot soapy water and press the 'Clean'
icon ( ). This will clean for 22 seconds.
Add time if necessary, then pour away the water
to leave a completely clean jug.
The Smart Blender base and jug are not
dishwasher safe.
PRE-PROGRAMMABLE SETTINGS
(see illustration fig. 1-6)
1 Select your programme on the control panel.
2 Place the prepared food in the jug.
3 Securely place the lid on to the jug, then press
play.
Pause at any time.
4 Pour your finished smoothie into your glass, add
garnish if necessary, then serve.
5 To clean, fill the jug with hot soapy water (up to
1000ml).
6 Press the clean icon, wait for 22 seconds, then
pour away water.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

Blender fails to start or stops whilst it is running and
cannot be restarted.
► Check to see if unit is securely plugged into an
electrical outlet.
The motor stops during operation due to
overheating.
► Unplug the blender. Once 10 minutes has
passed, plug the blender back in and resume
normal operation.
My blender will not switch on.
► Make sure the blade assembly is properly
assembled to the jar and that it is not misaligned.
Ingredients are not mixing properly.
► Ensure you have added enough liquid to the
ingredients.Your mixture should be fluid at all
times. You may have exceeded the max fill line
on the jug. Do not fill past the highest graduation
marking.
How small do I need to chop my ingredients?
► Make sure all ingredients are cut into 1" cubes for
optimum results.
Do I need to peel my ingredients?
► It is recommended to peel any fruit with a
fibrous, thick skin,such as bananas and oranges.
Depending on personal tasteyou can leave skins
Food is unevenly chopped.
► Either you are chopping too much food at once,
or not pulsing properly. Reduce the amount of
food in the jar.
Burning smell emitting from unit
► The blender might have overheated, allow to cool
before reusing.
What happens if I place the attachment in the
dishwasher, is only the inscription getting removed
or does it break?
► The attachment and its inscription are
dishwasher-safe. However, the knife set may dull
after several washing cycles.
Can I fill boiling hot (100 degrees) liquids into the
device (food stuffs and for cleaning purposes)?
► You can fill 100°C hot liquids. However, you
should avoid great differences in temperature
(ICE-COLD/HOT).
How hot does the liquid (soup) get if I fill it at room
temperature and let the soup program run? Does
the mixer heat the soup to 100 degrees or must it be
heated before serving?
► The soup is heated to approx. 70°C after
300 seconds.
CAUTION: NEVER IMMERSE THE MOTOR UNIT
OR POWER CORD INTO WATER FOR CLEANING.
If any problem has been encountered during use,
never disassemble the Motor Unit by yourself, there
are no user serviceable parts inside. Contact only
the authorized service facility for examination and
repair.
