Model 220 current source connections

The Model 220 current source can be connected to the matrix
card using the Model 6167 Guarded Adapter, as shown in
Figure 2-10. This configuration guards the output signal to
minimize the effects of distributed capacitance and leakage
current.
NOTE
The Model 6167 adapter must be modified
by internally disconnecting the inner
shield connection of the input jack from
the GUARDED/UNGUARDED selection
switch. Otherwise, instrument LO will be

adapter.
1. Connect the Model 6167 adapter to the Model 220
OUTPUT jack.
2. Connect a Model 7078-TRX-(3, 10 or 20) triax cable
between the guarded adapter and the desired row of the
Model 7174A.
3. Connect the Model 220 GUARD output to GUARD
INPUT terminal of the adapter.
4. Connect the triax end of a triax/banana cable to the
desired row on the Model 7174A.
5. Connect the banana plug end of the triax/banana cable
to the OUTPUT COMMON jack of the Model 220.
