WARNINGS

• TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
• For indoor applications only.
• If you are unsure about any part of these instructions, consult an electrician.
• To be installed and/or used in accordance with appropriate electrical codes and regulations.

DESCRIPTION

• ZLS05-ILW Solo Sensor™ designed to be mounted directly into light fixtures for occupancy and daylight harvesting control. Intended for use with 0-10V dim-to-off drivers, this
sensor uses Passive Infrared (PIR) detection technology to monitor a room for occupancy through a segmented lens. This specialized lens divides the field-of-view into sensor
zones. When a person passes into or out of a sensor zone, the sensor detects motion and switches the lights ON.
• The sensor is also designed for Daylight Harvesting Control and can maintain the desired lux level by regulating light output according to the intensity of natural light in the sensor
zone. The lights will remain ON as long as there is an occupant moving through the sensor zones unless sufficient ambient light is present.
• Product settings can be manually adjusted using the DIP switches or optional IR remote (ZLS0R-RA1). Adjustable settings include sensor sensitivity, hold time,
daylight harvesting lux level, stand-by level and stand-by time.
• ZLS05 Solo Sensor provides a 360° field-of-view with a maximum coverage area of approximately 700 square feet. The maximum sensing distance is 15 feet from center of
sensor. An optional IR remote (Cat. No. ZLS0R-RA1) can be used to adjust lighting levels up or down per the user's preferences.
NOTES:
• Requires a 0-10V dim-to-off driver
• Designed to install directly in fixture
• Mounting height of 2.5m-3m (8-10ft);
• Max mounting height of 4m (13ft) but may limit Field-of-View
• Configure DIP switch settings prior to installation into fixture
• Use provided plastic lock nut to secure sensor tightly in place

INSTALLATION

WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; TURN OFF POWER at circuit
breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
1. Adjust sensor operations by using DIP switches. Factory settings default to:
• Sensitivity: 100%
• Hold time: 10 seconds
• Dimming level: 30%
• Dimming time: 60 minutes
2. Position sensor correctly and tighten plastic lock nut.
3. Remove 3/4 in. of insulation from each of the wires and connect per wiring diagram.
4. After all connections have been made, ensure that all wire connectors are firmly
attached and there is no exposed wire.
5. Restore power to the circuit and verify locator LED lights are ON.
CLASS 2 WIRING:
For 0-10V Control Wiring: connect the Violet wire to the + 0-10V line and the Gray wire to the 0-10V
common using Class 1 or Class 2 wiring methods as indicated in these instructions, ballast/fixture/
driver instructions or ballast/fixture/driver label markings. Observe all requirements of any authority
having jurisdiction with respect to wire type, sleeving, isolation methods, and the like.
FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE:
The ZLS05 Solo Sensor lens establishes dozens of zones of detection. The sensor is sensitive to the heat emitted by the human body. To trigger the sensor, the source of heat
must move from one zone of detection to another. The device is most effective in sensing motion across its field-of-view, and less effective sensing motion towards or away from
its field-of-view. Keep this in mind when selecting the installation location. Note that occupancy sensors respond to rapid changes in temperature, so care should be taken not to
mount the device near a climate control source (i.e. radiators, air exchanges, and air conditioners). Hot or cold drafts will look like body motion to the device and will trigger it if the
unit is mounted too close. It is recommended to mount the Occupancy Sensor at least 6 ft. away from a climate control source. In addition, it is also recommended NOT to mount
the Occupancy Sensor directly under a large light source. Large wattage bulbs (greater than 100W incandescent) give off a lot of heat and switching the bulb causes a temperature
change that can be detected by the device. Mount the Occupancy Sensor at least 6 ft. away from large bulbs. If it necessary to mount the device closer, lower the wattage of the
bulb directly overhead. For applications involving daylighting harvesting, please ensure sensor and fixture are installed in locations that receive sufficient ambient light.

OPERATION

The ZLS05 Solo Sensor is designed to operate per user settings. An optional IR remote
(Cat. No. ZLS0R-RA1) can be used to configure the sensor and adjust lighting levels up
or down per the user's preferences.
